Cheerleading Clipart Resources Online

Resources for cheerleading clipart abound if you know where to look! Before using any clipart, make sure to read the terms of use or the licensing requirements. Not all clipart is simply free for the taking.

  1. Ultimate Cheerleading at Geocities - This small website contains animated "cartoon type" graphics that would be appropriate for elementary squads. The graphics are "free domain", although if you use them in a website, it would be polite to include the link to the source.
  2. Just Cheer - This is another small site that has a mixed bag of graphics, mostly of cartoon cheerleaders. However, there are a few graphics appropriate for older squads, and since the site is small it's not difficult to look.
  3. Rival Art - Rival Art is a website that specializes in selling clipart for T-shirts or other spirit related items. They will also draw customized mascots (or just about anything else that you want for that matter.) If you're just looking to dress up some flyers, this is not the site for you. However, a major organization that has several levels of cheerleading or has a lot of clothing printed would be wise to look into Rival Art's selection.
  4. Istockphoto is generally known for cheap images with common use licenses. However, they do have a fair selection of Vector cheerleading images. One thing that sets these images apart from other sites is that the type of image offered is more modern and could easily be used for varsity squads.

Clipart CDs

The web is a great resource when you need a few images or when you need specific images for something like T-shirts or bags. However, if you just want clip art to make cute flyers and locker decorations, you can save yourself some of the hassle of having to find new resources every time by buying clipart CDs. When you purchase the CD, you purchase the right to use the image on everything (except to resell the image itself), and you can use these images as much and as creatively as you want. A few of the larger collections offer ample and affordable options:

  • Nova Art Explosion - It's difficult not to find what you want with over 800,000 images to choose from.
  • ClipArt More - While this CD has more images than you'll ever need, it's not as easy to use as is the Nova Art Explosion.

Before you make an investment, check and see if your library owns or is willing to purchase a clip art CD for school use. This could save you a little money in the process!

What If I Can't Find Cheerleading Clipart?

Good clipart images that specifically indicate cheerleaders or cheerleading can be difficult to find. Rather, it is after laborious hunting that you can find a couple of images to use. If you really cannot find any suitable clipart, don't despair! There are several suitable solutions:

  • Pay a visit to your art department. Chances are very good that a talented student (or several talented students) can design some clipart for you.
  • Use sports clipart instead. Making signs for the basketball team? You can get away with using a basketball image instead of something that has more to do with cheerleading.
