Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders are a hot commodity. Putting out their own calendar each year is just one of many philanthropic endeavors this cheerleading powerhouse performs. Members of the squad have also toured some of the military bases in Iraq and Kuwait, visiting with United States soldiers and spreading some good old Eagles pep. They offer cheer clinics for young girls to help the next generation pursue the dream of one day becoming an Eagles cheerleader.

What It Takes to Be One of the Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders

To become a cheerleader for the Eagles, it takes determination, spunk, [Beautiful Cheerleader|beauty]] and a lot of cheerleading skills. Many of the [NFL Cheerleaders|Philadelphia Eagles]] cheerleaders have studied both dance and gymnastics for many years before trying out for the squad. Eagles cheerleaders are sexy, definitely not shy and interested in many different venues.

Eco-Friendly Calendar

Shot in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the 2008 Eagle's Cheerleaders Calendar features swimsuits made from recycled material. The paper the calendar is printed on is also from recycled products, making it a completely green production. The calendar became available for purchase in July of 2008 and can be purchased on the Eagles Cheerleading website.

2008 Squad

The 2008 Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders have around 38 girls on the squad. Much more than a pretty face and cute figure, these gals serve vital roles in Philadelphia society, from OR nurses to teachers. Here are just a few of the interesting and talented girls on this squad:

  • Alaina has a degree in art from Rutgers University, and she loves her grandmother's spinach ravioli.
  • Alexandra went to Rowan College for a degree in theater. She is a dance teacher and student during the day and owns 53 pairs of shoes.
  • Alicia also attends Rutgers for IT and Communications. She works as a medical secretary and model and can drive a stick shift wearing four-inch heels.
  • Amanda is a student at Kutztown University, is studying criminal justice and owns Golden Girls DVDs.
  • Amy attended Drexel University and is an operating room nurse. She's scared of snakes and wants to learn to surf.
  • Ashley is still a student and studying to be a math teacher. Her first concert was to see the Backstreet Boys.
  • Dana is studying elementary education at Bucks County Community College. This cheerleader owns 153 pairs of shoes!
  • Heather is an elementary teacher. This cheerleader snorts when she laughs and wants to learn to speak Spanish fluently. She loves pasta.
  • Jamie is a physical education teacher and has a degree in kinesiology from West Chester University. She can snowboard.
  • Jenna is an occupational therapist and loves to read. She also wants to learn to speak Italian.
  • Jennifer is a financial data systems analyst. This cheerleader attended La Salle college. She can't live without Taco Bell and loves the beach.
  • Katherine is an accounting student at Villanova University. She wishes she could sing like Faith Hill and wants to visit Australia.
  • Kjersti is a student attending the University of the Arts and studying dance. She loves animals and has considered becoming a marine biologist.
  • Laura is a professional dancer who attended the University of the Arts for modern dance. She was home schooled until her senior year of high school and once went skydiving.
  • Lauren K. – Works as an autism treatment therapist and consultant. She has double-jointed shoulders and can jump rope with her arms.
  • Maria is a degreed professional theater dancer and is the only person in her family who cannot cook.

As you can see, these women are highly intelligent, educated and have a wide variety of interests. With so much going for them, it is little wonder that the Eagles Squad is in high demand. From public appearances to their eco-friendly calendar, these women keep a hectic schedule that demands they be organized and eat and sleep properly to stay on top of everything.

The practices are long and grueling, and there are away games to attend as well as home games. In the end, the women love cheering for the Eagles and count being on the squad as one of the best things that has ever happened to them.
