Hello Cheers in General

Hello cheers are great, versatile cheers that you can use to introduce the squad or the team for whom you're cheering. Hello cheers offer personality as well as individuality for a squad and school. Use them in these types of situations:

  • A pre-game chant for a basketball or football game
  • To introduce the freshman squad at a pep rally
  • To introduce the players as they come onto the field
  • To highlight certain players, like the seniors during their last high school game

Some Printable Hello Cheers

You can always write your own cheers, and put them on your own website for others to print or download! Writing hello cheers is a great activity for the incoming freshman group of cheerleaders both to get to know each other and as a team building exercise. Introduce Your Squad

During this cheer, the person who is being introduced should come out when her name is first called, and then do a stunt, cartwheel or jump while the rest of the squad is cheering. If you perform this cheer in a line, the person who is next up in line will have plenty of room to maneuver.

At a Pep Rally

A pep rally is the perfect time to introduce a new crop of cheerleaders because it's one of the few times that the entire school is together. For your next pep rally, try this activity.

Hey Crowd
Hey what?
What's new?
What's new?
Here's Cindy (insert cheerleader's name)
Cindy's new and she's going to do a trick for you!

At this point, Cindy should do something to make her stand out. Whether it's the splits, a fantastic toe touch jump or some tumbling, you want each girl introduced to do something different.
